The Atelier
The art of tailor-made clothing magnifies each human body as the real life sculptures that they are.
The evolution of the fashion industry through out the last century made garments poorer in terms of personification and fitting.
It is also well known the giant amount of annual waste of clothes, as well as the precarization of jobs all around the world, consequence of the need to fulfill the supply required by fast fashion.
Flare stands as a slow fashion atelier.
Both the design and pattern development of each item are made in house.
The brand has a small production in Oporto and nearby, with the possibility to have any of the models altered according to the costumer desire.
Bespoke items are also produced, involving the costumers in all the design and garment making process.
The atelier produces singular units of each item, allowing to reduce stocks to minimum levels and in case of reproduction, to have it in different materials.
Main preference is given to natural materials such as cotton, linen, silk, wool, and the natural dye process of them is explored.

Flare surged in 2020 as a merge of a decade of studying and idealizing by Luísa.
Since her young age, she had a deep interest in fashion and crafs.
Luísa´s initial education was in Management, field in which she entered the labor market.
While working, she furthered her studies in fashion and design.
Flare aims to be a responsible player in an era of environmental, social and economical distress.
